what is YTD / MTD in sap hcm

YTD - Year to date - is a cumulative sum of that wage type in that year till that date. MTD - Month to date - is a cumulative sum of that wage type in that month till that date. The SAP help portal would have the documentation for these. 

"YTD" stands for "Year-to-Date." It's a common term used in payroll and reporting to refer to the period of time from the beginning of the current calendar year up to the present date.


  • YTD Payroll: This refers to the total amount of money an employee has earned or been paid from the start of the current calendar year up to the present date.

  • YTD Absences: This refers to the total number of days an employee has been absent from work due to various reasons (sickness, vacation, etc.) since the beginning of the year.

  • YTD Overtime: This refers to the total amount of overtime hours worked by an employee since the beginning of the year.

  • YTD Performance: This might refer to various performance metrics tracked over the course of the year, such as sales figures, productivity measures, etc.
